Review on Love Fish
Regarded as one of Ireland's top chefs and restaurateurs, Michael Deane has created three unique restaurants on his Howard Street site, Eipic, Meat Locker and Love Fish. Located in the heart of Belfast, close to City Hall and all the major hotels, Love Fish is a 100 seater dining space set between Meat Locker and Eipic. Light streams from the conservatory style roof into the modern white interiors, banquette seating runs along one wall and there's also a bar area set with tall stools.
Love Fish offers a buzzy and informal dining experience with the menu showcasing the finest local seafood and shellfish, with options available for meat lovers. The menu is divided into Snacks, Small Plates, Fruits de Mer, Sharing Plates and Plates offering dishes such as seared scallop, minted pea purée and pancetta or Stilton salad, poached pear and candied walnuts. For something more substantial or as a main course, you could opt for battered haddock, beef dripping chips, crushed peas or fresh linguini, crab, chilli and parsley. To finish there's sticky ginger pudding paired with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream or for something zingy, choose the lemon posset and raspberries.
To complement the food there's an affordable wine list with plenty of options available by the glass.
