Review on Iberica Victoria
Iberica, the award winning Spanish group of restaurants have continued their expansion with the opening of a further branch on the ground floor of the newly constructed Zig Zag Building, just a short walk from Victoria Station. Laid out over two floors it has been designed by international renowned architect, Lázaro Rosa Violán, from the Contemporain Studios of Barcelona. The vast venue has a modern décor with a dedicated bar and a lovely terrace for al fresco dining. It also has its own deli, where customers can buy all manner of Spanish provisions, cured meats, olives, cheeses, Jerez sherry and more besides.
The menu is devised by three-Michelin starred executive chef, Nacho Manzano and César Garcia, group head chef using imported artisan produce from Spain. Typical offerings on the carte include dishes like roasted bone marrow with beef and mushroom gravy, toast and watercress or from the sea there's octopus a la gallega with potatoes and pimentón de la Vera. For s sweet-toothed finale enjoy a Gloria cheesecake with parmesan and dried strawberries or a chocolate mousse with herbs cress and red fruit salad, yoghurt, vanilla oil and cider gel.
To accompany the food there's an extensive selection of Spanish wines, beers, sangria and signature cocktails.
