Review on The Butcher's Hook
The Butcher's Hook occupies a prime corner position on the corner of Fulham Road and Holmead Road, directly opposite Stamford Bridge Football Ground, the building where Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905. This award winning pub is a popular neighbourhood venue with exposed brick walls, a light and airy conservatory, as well as outside seating for al fresco dining when the weather is warm.
The kitchen offers a seasonal menu that changes daily together with blackboard dishes available throughout the day. Amongst the starters look for ham hock terrine paired with toast and cornichons or from the sea there's chilli and garlic tiger prawns and watercress. Main courses pick up on BBQ baby back ribs, fries, coleslaw, grilled corn and salad or pan-fried sea bass fillets, cauliflower tabbouleh, pomegranate and pumpkin seeds. Those of a sweet-toothed persuasion will be swayed by the prospect of apricot sticky toffee pudding served with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream or Summer fruits Eton mess and lemon curd.
There's an extensive wine list that offers wine pairing with the dishes, as well as a wide selection of ales and lagers.
