Review on Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill
March 2016 saw Marco Pierre White roll out another branch of his Steakhouse Bar & Grill brand, this time in the Royal Borough of Windsor. Located within the four star Castle Hotel Windsor MGallery by Sofitel, an elegant Georgian building that started life as a 16th century coaching inn, it's in an enviable position close to Windsor Castle. The resplendent of the hotel permeates though to its equally luxurious restaurant, with plush chairs and banquette seating set against crisp linen clad tables. In line with his other Steakhouse restaurants the walls feature large black and white photos of Marco.
The kitchen offers classic dishes, using simple techniques and the very best seasonal ingredients. Typical starters include brandade of smoked mackerel in fresh horseradish mayonnaise and paired with Melba toast, or meat fans will enjoy the rillettes of duck au poivre vert, potted shredded duck, green peppercorns, cornichons and toasted sourdough. When it comes to main courses why not choose one of their succulent 28 day aged streaks from Royal Warrant Appointed butcher, Campbell Brothers or from the sea there's seared yellowfin tuna steak with panzanella salad, cherry tomatoes, capers, croutons, red onion, fresh basil and merlot dressing. To finish enjoy favourites like sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream or the New York baked cheesecake with fresh strawberries.
