Review on Cort Restaurant
Set in the heart of the Old Town of Palma in a former 19th century bank, the Cort restaurant is located on the ground floor of the boutique Cort Hotel which opened in August 2013. Occupying a prime spot on the charming square of Plaza de Cort opposite the elegant 17th century Town Hall, a well known tourist attraction famous for its 600 years old olive tree called Olivera de Cort.
The stunning interiors have been created by the renowned Barcelona designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who has created a stylish venue with attractive geometrical tiled flooring, black and white wall tiles, wooden panels, ceilings of Mallorcan blue-and-white 'cloth of tongues' and leather banquette seating set against wooden tables.
Heading the kitchen is Hernán Doméstico who uses only high-quality ingredients which he presents with genuine respect to the seasonal produce on offer. Mediterranean dishes with international influences appear in a selection of salads, snacks, pastas, meat and fish dishes. Other options worth considering are the oysters, tartars, Iberian ham and ceviches from the Raw Bar.
The wine list offers a good spread of well-chosen bottles from around the globe including local wines from the island.
