Review on La Taperia
Restaurateurs Luis and Sandra who have already established La Taperia in Lübeck, Germany opened a sibling restaurant with the same name in Palma, Mallorca. Located in the popular La Lonja area of the Old Town, it's a short walk from the exclusive shops of Jaume III Avenue and the beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma. The intimate restaurant is down a few steps into a dining room featuring a large window looking out onto the street, high ceilings and exposed brick walls.
The kitchen showcases an extensive menu of tapas style dishes, perfect for sharing. There's cured Spanish Iberico ham, chicken wings in a spicy sauce or maybe a mini hamburger with a blue cheese sauce. Fish fans might opt for salmon with fresh vegetables and a fennel orange sauce or carpaccio of shrimps with a purée of avocado, strawberries and bread. For vegetarians there's baked aubergine with a herb cheese sauce or fried mushrooms with thyme. For a sweet-toothed finale choose crema Catalina or fresh strawberries with ice cream.
The wine list offers plenty of options by the glass and there's also a selection of cocktails.
