Review on Taronja Negre Mar
Commanding stunning vistas across the bay of Palma to the magnificent gothic cathedral, the restaurant Taronja Negre Mar is located within the Club de Mar de Palma. Opened in May 2015 it's an offshoot of Taronja Negre in Sant Llorenç, as well as sibling to Mallorcan chef Tomey Caldentey's highly regarded Bou restaurant in the Hotel Protur Sa Coma Playa. The contemporary décor has been designed by Marisa Clar in colours of turquoise and orange with a collection of white pots and pans dangling from the ceiling. Tables on the outside terrace are much sought after to take in the waterfront views.
The kitchen presents innovative dishes using fresh local ingredients designed for sharing. Typical offerings on the carte include artichokes with herring, almond and black olive as well as Mallorcan suckling pig with orange and carrot. When it comes to desserts there's hazelnut fondant with spicy chocolate or maybe a Mallorcan sweet herb dessert with lemon. If desserts are not your thing, you might prefer to choose a selection of cheeses from the custom-made trolley.
The wine list keeps its prices in check and there's options available by the glass or bottle.
