Review on La Tulipe
Originally located in the small village of S’Arraco, La Tulipe moved to its present location in Camp de Mar, near Port d’Andratx in March 2012. It's owned by Swiss Brigitte Zwygart who adeptly manages front of house and Italian chef René Bernasconi, who mans the stoves. An attractive restaurant with well-spaced tables, it also has a large terrace for al fresco dining overlooking pretty foliage.
René presents a Mediterranean and international menu with Swiss influences along the lines of snails with herb butter au gratin or fried foie gras with homemade chutney. Amongst the main courses look for salmon with pistachio crust, orange sauce and mashed sweet potato or from the land there's breast of quail with port wine sauce and celery mousse. Desserts are equally inviting ideas like apple cake with pastry cream and honey thyme sauce or maybe lemon mousse with coffee sauce.
