Review on Trespais
Trespais was launched in 2011 by husband and wife team Domenico Curcio, who mans the stoves and Jenny Terlers who adeptly manages front-of-house. The name means three countries and is based on their nationalities, Domenico is half Italian and half German, while Jenny hails from Austria. Tucked away on a one-way street, it's located in the exclusive resort of Port d'Andratx, a short walk from the harbour berthed with expensive yachts. The interiors have a smart décor in a neutral palette with contemporary artwork adorning the walls, and leather chairs set against tables laid with crisp linen. However, most guests prefer to dine al fresco in their lovely romantic candlelit garden.
Domenico who previously worked at the prestigious Ritzi restaurant in Porto Portals, presents a Mediterranean menu with influences from Italy, Austria and Asia. On offer there might be fried squid with guacamole or German meat cakes paired with cream spinach, fried quail egg and truffle foam. When it comes to main courses there's hake with crispy mash from roast potatoes, bacon and champagne mustard sauce or their popular Wiener Schnitzel served with traditional potato and cucumber salad and cranberries. Desserts are prettily displayed ideas in the shape of banana split with almond croquant or strawberries marinated in Grand Marnier with vanilla ice cream.
Jenny provides attentive and friendly service, and there's a good selection of wine including local offerings to accompany the food.
