Review on Restaurant Mandala
A scenic 40-minute drive from Palma in the lovely mountain hamlet of Orient in the World Heritage area of Sierra de Tramuntana Range, Restaurant Mandala has been providing genuine, personal hospitality for over 25 years. Tucked away on the cobbled streets at the top of the hill in the village, it's an intimate restaurant occupying an original stone building. Featuring an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work, in summer months there's also tables on their terrace filled with fragrance from the abundant Jasmine.
The kitchen serves French food with Asian influences along the lines of samosas paired with yogurt and onion chutney or artichokes with lemon, parmesan and walnuts. Main courses pick up on duck magret with marsala sauce or salmon paillot with ginger. To finish enjoy their amazing Greek tartlet with pears in red wine mascarpone cream or the spiced ice cream.
There's a concise wine list to complement the dishes together with a great selection of tea.
