Review on Hotel Can Simoneta
On a cliff top location, The Can Simoneta Hotel is a luxury hideaway situated on the edge of the Llevant nature reserve, a mile from the seaside village of Canyamel and the Caves of Artà , and six miles from the rural towns of Artà and Capdepera, with its medieval castle. The restaurant has a stylish contemporary décor with the added advantage of an open and covered terrace for al fresco dining, affording magnificent panoramic views over the bay of Canyamel.
Valencian Head Chef Pablo Tamarit holds sway in the kitchen, and together with his team produce creative Mediterranean dishes with much of the produce grown on the hotel's expansive estate. Open the slate with sardines with a vinaigrette of raspberry and avocado mousse, followed by a main course of suckling lamb with gnocchi filled with mushrooms and cardamom sauce. Fish fans will enjoy the hake with pil-pil of peas and candied tomato with Jabugo broth.
The food is matched by a comprehensive wine cellar with an excellent selection of Spanish wines, including varieties from Mallorca.
