Review on Hotel El Coto
Hotel Coto has been owned by the Navarrete family for over two decades, situated at the quiet end of Colonia de Sant Jordi overlooking Ses Salines salt lakes, it's a short walk from the beautiful Es Trenc beach. Inside, the focal point is their elegant restaurant done out in neutral shades, found at the back of the hotel facing the swimming pool and garden. Guests can also dine in the hotel's lovely palm and pine filled garden, where soft lighting in the evening creates a romantic atmosphere.
The kitchen offers a wide range of culinary delights which for dinner includes a buffet salad bar to open proceedings. After this you might opt for a starter of tuna tartar with ponzu mayonnaise and watercress salad followed by a main course of veal Cordon Bleu and home-made French fries. While a dessert of bavaroise of coconut paired with sautéed pineapple and chocolate crocant is a fitting finale.
To accompany the food there's a majestic tome of over 400 Spanish wines including a well-annotated assortment of good value Mallorcan wines, with some serious contenders along the way.
