Review on Restaurante HPC Portocolom
The HPC restaurant is located on the ground floor of Hostal Portocolom in the quaint fishing village of Potro Colom on the east coast of Mallorca. Set just steps from the sea with wonderful views of the bay, the restaurant has a lovely lofty arched ceiling with a modern interior, created by the well-known Mallorcan designer Miguel Sagrera in a palette of white with touches of red and grey.
Leading the kitchen is Juan Sierra who produces an inviting Mediterranean menu of crowd-pleasing dishes that encompasses an a la carte menu, alongside paellas, pastas and homemade pizzas. Amongst the starters look for beef carpaccio with arugula and parmesan shavings or grilled octopus with Vera paprika and Flor de Sal. When it comes to main courses there's grilled seabass with sea urchin sauce and vegetable spaghetti or for carnivores there's sirloin medallions with arugula and parmesan. Well executed desserts close the show in the shape of crepe with hazelnut ice cream or banoffee pie.
The wine list is reasonably priced and there's also a cocktail list and a selection of beers to accompany the food.
