Review on Cuit Bar and Restaurant at Nakar Hotel
The Nakar is a smart modern hotel set on Avenida Jaime III, one of Palma's most prestigious streets, it not only has top-class facilities, but has the added bonus of the the showpiece Cuit Bar and Restaurant. Stop off at the rooftop bar for a pre-dinner cocktail with music selected by their resident DJ, before heading for the eighth floor restaurant. A lovely contemporary décor in a neutral palette flooded with natural light, the pièce de résistance is the stunning panoramic views across the city including the Cathedral, Bellver Castle and the beautiful bay of Palma.
The culinary Director of Cuit is renowned chef Miquel Calent, the current holder of a Repsol Guide SUN for eight consecutive years for his popular restaurant Ca'n Calent in Campos. The kitchen places great emphasis on local seasonal artisanal produce for its modern Mallorcan cuisine, pork is supplied by the pigs raised by his father and organic fruit and vegetables come from Miquel's own gardens.
Among the list of starters you might find crispy cod with sauce of sobrassada and honey or for meat eaters there's cooked soft veal salad, apple, hazelnuts and herbs. Main courses also provide ample choice, from shoulder of Majorcan lamb roasted, chick-peas and rosemary air to crispy octopus, black rice and spicy banana mayonnaise. Proceedings conclude in style with cheesecake, plums, laurel and ginger ice cream or a chilled watermelon soup with crispy cake and spicy sherbet.
