Review on Sadrassana Restaurant Cocteleria
Sadrassana Restaurant Cocteleria is situated on the outskirts of Palma de Mallorca's popular Llonja district, overlooking Plaza de la Drassana. Set in a beautiful historic 19th century building that starred in the Emmy-winning TV series The Night Manager, it features a restaurant and cocktail bar with the Galeria Horrach Moya on the upper levels, giving art lovers the opportunity to see the works of contemporary artists before or after dining.
Palma interior design and art projects company am29 are responsible for the stylish décor, retaining many of the original features in respect to the building's history. Showcasing luxurious contemporary fabric wall coverings, vintage furniture, ornate wall mirrors, there's also stunning glittering chandeliers.
Open for dinner only, the kitchen shows a respect for fresh seasonal market produce and was the recipient of a prestigious Sol Repsol for two years in a row for its accomplished cooking. Look for starters such as beef carpaccio and truffle or a traditional Mallorcan dish of crispy-based 'coca' topped with sobrasada, goat cheese, rocket, and a raisin, pine nut, and honey vinaigrette. When it comes to main courses there's the Menorcan speciality of lobster, potatoes and fried eggs or for those who enjoy meat there's a succulent sirloin steak or maybe Moroccan chicken. Desserts offer an enticing mix of flavours witness their baklava set on a salted caramel cream with olive oil, crumbs of salted caramel and sliced olives.
The wine list looks to Spain and Mallorca with options available by the glass, and there's also more than 20 gins on offer, together with tasty cocktails.
