Review on Corazon

Corazon, a Mexican taqueria opened its doors on Poland Street in Soho in November 2016. Texas born Laura Sheffield is the brains behind the restaurant having previously managed pubs and restaurants, including Corbin & King's Fischer's and the Riding House Café. Featuring plain whitewashed walls, there's a concrete-topped terrazzo bar, simple tables set on reclaimed terracotta tiled flooring, overlooked by a small open kitchen.

The kitchen focuses on signature tacos alongside a selection of ceviches, tostadas and salads. Among the tempting offerings there's rolled and shallow fried tortillas filled with roast chicken, capers, raisins and tomatoes or beer battered Baja fish with red and white shredded cabbage and chipotle mayo. When it comes to desserts think coconut flan or tres leches cake topped with melted marshmallow.

There's a concise wine menu to complement the food alongside margaritas, agave and rum based cocktails, Mexican and American beers.
