Review on Inamo Camden
Camden in North West London was the location for the the third branch of the award winning Inamo group of restaurants, having established siblings in Soho and Covent Garden. Located just steps from Mornington Crescent tube station, it has a large outside terrace, perfect for al fresco dining. There's a small dining room downstairs with an open kitchen, while the main restaurant is upstairs leading out to a lovely rooftop terrace, overlooking the busy high street below.
It's very high-tech, black ceilings and dark floors together with low lighting enable diners to do everything on tablets, they can order food and rate the dishes, play various games, draw and even change the tablecloth on the interactive white table tops.
The kitchen serves high quality pan-Asian cuisine drawing influences from Japan, China, Thailand and Korea. Most of the dishes are designed for sharing such as the Sichuan chicken, a mouth-watering mix of of spicy chicken with chilli garlic sauce, ginger, onion and peppers or salt and pepper squid in light tempura dusted with salt and pepper, and served with Inamo's tangy house chilli sauce. Later turn your attention to desserts like Baileys & Oreo cheesecake, a velvety chocolate cheesecake flavoured with creamy Baileys and crunchy Oreo cookies or honey and chia seed dessert, coconut milk, chia seeds and honey deliciously combined and topped with sweet mango, fresh passion fruit and mint.
There's a carefully compiled wine list to complement the food as well as signature cocktails with an Asian twist.
