Review on Parsons
Will Palmer and Ian Campbell, the team behind the successful The 10 Cases opened a seafood restaurant called Parsons in December 2017, located just across the road from it's older sibling and wine shop. The name of the restaurant is a reference to both Ian and Will's mothers sharing the same maiden name. Parsons is distinguished by it's smart maroon-tiled facade and during summer months there's a few tables outside for al fresco dining or drinking. Inside white tiles and mirrors line the walls and there's banquette seating running down the length of the restaurant, with some counter seating overlooking the small open kitchen.
The main menu changes daily to reflect the very best seafood that is available and is written up on the mirrors and tiles. Dishes are treated simply and with respect offering starters in the shape of seared mackerel salad and orange dressing or black rice, squid and cauliflower aioli. For those who prefer meat there's a bavette steak sandwich, and to finish with a sweet temptation there's apple tarte fine.
Parson's showcase an excellent wine list to accompany the dishes with a focus on white, and there's plenty of choice available by the glass.
