Review on Cinnamon Kitchen Oxford
Vivek Singh has continued the expansion of his Cinnamon Kitchen brand, set within the new £440m Westgate Shopping Centre in the heart of Oxford it will be his first restaurant outside London. The elegant restaurant featuring an open kitchen offers diners a relaxed ambience away from the hustle and bustle of the shops, with the added bonus of a large rooftop garden terrace for al fresco dining, it has panoramic views across the iconic Oxford Spires.
Open all day, the kitchen specialises in modern Indian cuisine with British influences, employing innovative cooking techniques and first-class seasonal ingredients. Open your account with char-grilled sea bass in banana leaf parcel, lime pickle and sticky rice before a main course of Old Delhi style butter chicken or from the sea tandoori king prawns, Bengali turmeric curry, ghee rice and spinach poriyal. When it comes to desserts there's sticky ginger toffee pudding with garam masala ice cream or a dark chocolate mousse with white chocolate crumble and milk chocolate ice cream. If you are just popping in for a light snack there's Tandoori chicken and cheese toastie or you could opt for a masala omelette with home made pao.
Cinnamon Kitchen has a thoughtfully compiled wine list to complement the food that includes a range of locally-sourced Oxford wine, and spiced infused cocktails created by leading mixologist Tony Conigliaro.
