Located on the first floor of the O2 indoor shopping and entertainment centre on Finchley Road, Shikumen provides a relaxing ambience away from the hustle and bustle. Shikumen meaning stone gate, a style of housing unique to Shanghai is part of a small chain of select Chinese restaurants with siblings located in Shepherd's Bush, Ealing and Aldgate. Inside it has an industrial vibe with grey brick walls and cream banquettes set against simply laid wood tables.

The kitchen serves a wide-ranging menu using carefully sourced ingredients, and their handmade dim sum is one of the highpoints producing some of the most imaginative and skilfully wrought morsels in the industry. Their signature dish is authentic Beijing Peking duck which is carved at the table and served with handmade pancakes and Chinese buns.

To accompany the dishes there's a comprehensive wine list, sake and carefully crafted cocktails.
