Review on Fera Restaurant & Bar
Although tucked away in a charming narrow street in the heart of Palma, Fera Restaurant & Bar is just steps from the elegant avenue of Jaume III, lined with shops. Housed in beautifully restored old town palace with old stone archways, it's located on the ground floor of the island's oldest and most distinguished social club, Circulo Mallorquin which was founded in the mid-19th-century. Inside it has an eclectic style decorated with stunning modern art, sculpture, photography, paintings and large installations by renowned contemporary artists, curated specially for the restaurant by Aba Art Lab from the Levy Family's private collection.
Taking the reins of the kitchen is Austrian born Executive Chef, Simon Andreas Petutschnig, who is highly regarded in Mallorca having worked in a number of award winning restaurants. He has produced a modern Mediterranean menu with Asian influences along the lines of Bluefin tuna tartar with cream of green 'mojo' and crispy rice or smoked dim sum of Mallorcan suckling pig amongst the starters. Main courses pick up on five-spiced magret of duck with apple purée, miso aubergine, and pear chutney or from the sea Black cuttlefish-ink rice with grilled octopus, rock mussels and plankton alioli. Desserts bring on board a vanilla panna cotta, biscuit, and yogurt ice cream with raspberry cream or textures of chocolate with kumquat marmalade, orange, and turron ice cream.
The chic floral cocktail bar serves tasty tapas and carefully crafted cocktails such as Med Mary Vodka, Dry sherry, tomate Mix, limón, lima, Sal de Es Trenc, pimienta, salsa picante.
