Review on Stecca
Stecca is tucked away on Hollywood Road in the heart of Little Chelsea, distinguished by its smart white painted frontage and royal blue canopy, it's an elegant bastion of Italian cookery. The brainchild of chef Stefano Stecca, who honed his culinary skills in well regarded restaurants such as Toto's, Baglioni and Zafferano in Knightsbridge. A light and airy venue with contemporary artwork adorning the walls, white crisp linen laid tables are set with smart royal blue chairs on dark wood flooring. There's a couple of tables on the pavement at the front of the restaurant, as well as a small garden at the rear, for al fresco dining when the weather is warm.
Stefano presents a regional and seasonal menu of Italian favourites emphasising first-class produce. You might opt to start with scallops gratin before moving on to tagliolini lobster, sweet chilli and parsley or maybe veal chop Milanese with rocket and cherry tomato. Desserts stay close to home with ricotta and pear cheesecake or mascarpone cream with raspberries.
Italian varietals dominate the wine list, but there's also a nice selection of French offerings, with options available by the glass.
