Review on Tapas Brindisa Battersea
The latest arm of Brindisa Tapas opened in November 2018, celebrating 30 years since its found Monika Linton first brought Spanish produce to the UK, located in Circus West Village it's part of the regeneration of Battersea Power Station. The restaurant will be the first within the group to have a dedicated cheese and charcuterie bar offering authentic Spanish selection to eat in or take away, including hand-picked seasonal cheeses aged in Brindisa's cheese rooms by Monika's husband Rupert.
The interiors have been designed by Article Design Studio making the most of natural and reclaimed materials, with muted tones of wood and terracotta tiling. A central bar lined with stools offers a daily changing bar snacks menu, and the restaurant also has the advantage of a spacious outdoor terrace with views of the River Thames, overlooked by the iconic Power Station. Brindisa will also host supper clubs for up to 12 diners in their 'Home Kitchen', which sits alongside the open kitchen surrounding the dining area.
Among the delights on offer you might opt for dishes such as salt cod 'brandade', verdina beans and diced ham or from the hot section Gambas al Ajillo, prawns, chilli, garlic and olive oil. Other options worth pursuing would be Raphael Báez's fried goats' cheese, orange blossom honey and beetroot crisps or a selection of Ibérico charcuterie served with sourdough bread and olive oil.
To accompany the dishes there's sherries, an all-Spanish wine list, a gin and tonic menu, Spanish craft beers and cocktails such as Martina de Casa, Renaissance vodka, La Gitana manzanilla en Rama and a Gordal olive.
