Review on Hans' Bar & Grill
Hans' Bar & Grill is a gem of a neighbourhood restaurant, part of the luxury boutique 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel, it has it's own entrance on picturesque Pavillion Road, the longest mews in London, a destination for independent and artisan traders. The company behind this venture is Iconic Luxury Hotels whose portfolio also includes Chewton Glen, Cliveden House and the Lygon Arms.
The interiors of the restaurant have been designed by Goddard Littlefair and it's a very smart affair indeed with pale oak parquet flooring and white fluted timber walls offset with original yellow-stock brick. Skylights bathe the room with natural light and marble and oak topped tables are set against leather banquette seating and bespoke velvet chairs. After the hive of activity of Sloane Square, it's an oasis of tranquillity with it's pretty greenery hanging from the ceiling.
The kitchen offers an all-day eating experience with flexibility as its hallmark. Ham hock and pheasant terrine spiced pear and sourdough toast is a good starting point, followed by a main course of prawn and mussel linguine, chilli, garlic and white wine or there's Hans' beef burger, emmental, pancetta, jalapeño slaw and fries from the grill. The menu signs off with desserts like banana cake paired with caramel ice cream and peanuts or blackberry and green apple pavlova.
The wine list roams the globe with a choice of over 180 bins and there's also a classic cocktail menu curated by Salvatore Damiano using British spirits.
