Restaurateurs Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux, the duo who founded the hugely popular Big Mama group in Paris have launched their first London restaurant named Gloria. Aiming to bring a slice of 'la dolce vita' to Shoreditch, the lively trattoria is spread over two floors in the building that was formerly occupied by Red's True Barbecue. The corner site is distinguished by its sunny yellow exterior and its pretty array of pot plants.

Inside the captivating interiors by Studio Kiki evoke the ambience of Capri in the 70's with pink pinstripe upholstery, ornate vintage lamps and Carrara marble from Tuscany. Downstairs is a late night dining and cocktail bar featuring a sunken open kitchen, brown velour banquette seating and a mirrored ceiling.

The kitchen showcases an extensive menu of elegant and classic Italian dishes, with everything made in-house from authentic ingredients sourced direct from Italy. Some of the dishes that are proving popular include their 10-level lasagna and their signature Filippo's big balls, slow-cooked meat balls, 3-hour San Marzano tomato sauce, spinach and pecorino, as well as the Neapolitan Pizza heated in their gigantic Marana oven. When it comes to seafood why not opt for the black mamba, fresh cuttlefish in umido, candied datterino tomatoes, squid ink and Amalfi lemon. Desserts are also a hot ticket with the incomparable lemon pie or profiterole Napoletana, a huge puff pastry, vaniglia gelato, caramelized pecan nuts and warm dark chocolate.

To complement your dining experience there's a rustic wine room showcasing an impressive collection of 1,300 bottles.
