Review on The Ivy in the Park
The Ivy in the Park is the latest addition to Richard Caring's stable of restaurants, located in Canary Wharf amid the towering skyscrapers, it overlooks the green on Canada Square that plays host to numerous events throughout the year. Located in one of the area's most sustainable buildings, the restaurant is spread out over two floors, filled with lush plants, the stunning interiors feature their signature art deco style bar, as well as sumptuous leather banquettes set against linen clad tables with pretty brass table lamps.
Executive Chef Sean Burbridge has created a menu that spans breakfast, brunch, lunch and leisurely dinners with an excellent selection of dishes to keep diners happy at whatever time of day they pop in. Among the list of starters you might opt for the warm crispy duck with five spice dressing, toasted cashews, watermelon, beansprouts, sesame seeds, coriander and ginger before grilled sea bass fillet, smoked aubergine, tomato pesto and a tomato, olive, shallot and coriander dressing. Sweet temptations include an apple tart fine, baked apple tart served with vanilla ice cream and Calvados flambé or strawberry ice cream sundae with vanilla ice cream with meringue, shortbread and a warm strawberry sauce.
To accompany the food there's a well sourced wine list, together with zingy cocktails.
