Review on Delamina
Husband and wife Amir and Limor Chen are the double act behind the Delamina restaurant located on historical Marylebone Lane, just off Wigmore Street and a short walk from Bond Street tube station. A high ceilinged room flooded with lots of natural light and hanging plants, white washed walls decorated with family photos give it a homely touch. Cosy banquette seating with cushions and Carmargue chairs are set against wooden tables.
Tel Aviv born Limor presents vibrant dishes inspired by her middle Eastern and European heritage, with an emphasis on healthy cuisine where she grills and roasts ingredients infused with herbs and spices. The menu is divided into vegetables, meat, fish and seafood along the lines of charred cauliflower served with lemon zest infused crème fraiche, lamb chops marinated in kabsa and plums, chargrilled hispi cabbage, vine leaves and barberries chimicurri or from the sea seared tuna marinated in urfa and honey on a salad of quinoa, roasted hazelnuts and pomegranate, lemon avocado and tamarind drizzle. Make sure you leave room for Limor's parfait of halva and roasted almonds, date of syrup and raw tahini drizzle or the seasonal baked fruit, oats and almond crumble paired with vanilla gelato.
Service is warm and friendly, with interesting wines imported from the Middle East and signature cocktails like Fire & Smoke, prepared with rosemary-infused gin, tonic water and smoky lapsang.
