Review on Arros QD
Three-starred Michelin chef Quique Dacosta launched his first restaurant outside Spain in June 2019, named Arros QD it focuses on rice based dishes. Set in the heart of Fitzrovia and laid out across two floors, the interiors look glamorous, thanks to lauded designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán. The 140-cover space features an open kitchen with seating where guests can watch all the theatre of the six-metre woodfire stove, or upstairs there's a more traditional dining experience.
Among the starters look for stone bass ceviche, dried corn, kafir lime and tiger milk or for meat fans there's beef cheeks, red curry stew, coriander, mint and coconut foam. Moving on there's much to enjoy when it comes to main courses such as grass-fed Cornwall ribeye, 32 days aged with chimichurri or among the rice dishes Mediterranean, cuttle fish, tiger prawn, monkfish and noras aioli. Proceedings conclude in style with cheesecake, forest fruit syrup, biscuit ice cream and almond paper or mango, lychees, meringue, cantaloupe melon and mango ice cream.
Apart from the well-chosen Mediterranean wine list there's cocktails along the lines of Las Rambas, Gin Mare, Lemon & Thyme Cordial, Lemon Juice, Orange Bitter and Olive Oil Drops or fruities like Thyme for Melon, Melon Puree, Clementine Juice, Thyme Syrup, Lemon and Club Soda.
