Review on The Chelsea Cellar

Tucked away on Park Walk, just off the Fulham Road, The Chelsea Cellar is a delightful subterranean Italian restaurant and wine bar. The restaurant has a welcoming and friendly ambience, tables are well spaced with flickering candlelights and there's also counter seating at the bar. The cosy room is decorated with interesting artwork on the walls and there's a nice selection of background music.

The kitchen serves cicchetti, small plates perfect for sharing with a glass or bottle of wine from their extensive wine list, that showcases unique varietals from Puglia in the Southern region of Italy. The freshest natural ingredients find their way into the crowd-pleasing dishes. A platter of prosciutto, salami and bresaola gets the ball rolling, before being tempted with the likes of baby calamari pan fried with borlotti beans or their popular gnocchi served with a choice of sage butter, mushroom or walnut and gorgonzola. When it comes to desserts who could resist their Italian Kiss, a vanilla and chocolate brownie ball, otherwise for a savoury finish opt for the cheeseboard.

Service is attentive and charming injecting a warmth into the experience.
