Review on Craft English Garden
Emma and Sam Morgan, the team behind the successful Craft Dining Rooms that's located within the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, have teamed up with Michelin-starred chef Aktar Islam for their latest venture, Craft English Garden. Nestling alongside its older sibling, the stunning décor has been created by UK based Fifi interiors with a lavish botanical theme. Encompassing beautiful hanging planters and floral archways, there's a feature foliage wall as well as numerous colourful succulents. Up to eight guests can dine in their unique dining pods named Rose, Poppy and Lilly after the founders children, all with built in heating and music system, they offer 360° uninterrupted sensational views across the city.
Leading the kitchen brigade is respected chef Andrew Sheridan, who was the North West Chef of the Year in 2011 and a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Chef of the Year in 2005. He showcases a seasonal British menu inspired by his childhood memories making excellent use of first-class produce from trusted suppliers. Among the starters there's dishes like halibut, caviar and bacon or chicken soup served with chicken soup. After that, consider venison, beetroot and cabbage or from the sea Plymouth cod, crab sauce and potato, finishing with rice pudding, apple and hay.
The wine list features over 100 different English wines, some of which are local to Birmingham, together with an excellent gin selection.
