Review on Seaview House Hotel
Situated in carefully tended grounds close to the Ballylickey Bridge over the River Ouvane, Kathleen O’Sullivan’s country hotel is a restful retreat within easy reach of Bantry. The charming Victorian house is full of family heirlooms, antiques and fabulous furnishings, making it a delightful, homely place to stay.
The traditionally appointed restaurant and its adjoining octagonal conservatory enjoy fine views across the garden to Bantry Bay. Fixed-price dinner menus are changed each day and the focus is on well-tried country house cooking with an international flavour. Typical dishes might include Bantry Bay crab salad, warm scallop mousse with Vermouth sauce, and roast rack of lamb with rosemary, ahead of traditional desserts like brown bread ice cream with butterscotch sauce.
