Hotel Restaurant Jardin was built at the turn of the century, the original name was Militärgarten, meaning Military Garden, and it is situated within a 20-minute walk from the historic centre of Bern. The restaurant is traditional in style and serves home cooked Swiss dishes from a reasonably priced lunch and evening menu, which varies daily according to market supplies. A variety of events such as samba and disco evenings add to the culinary experience. The Jardin even has its own bowling alley to entertain guests. The restaurant can accommodate about 80 diners and the covered terrace overlooking a garden area offers seating for another 50 people. The Jardin also has other rooms catering for parties and conferences for up to 300 people.
