The Dählhölzli restaurant is located in unique surroundings next to Berne Zoo and the River Aare. The family-run restaurant on the first floor overlooks the garden with its chestnut trees, which are spectacularly lit with some 40,000 lights. Diners can enjoy a menu of international à la carte dishes or choose the warm buffet. The restaurant lays great value on fresh and seasonal products and local fish such as whitefish, Egli and pike feature on the menu. In addition to the regular Sunday brunch, the restaurant also organises various culinary events such as Rund um die Wurst, Around the Sausage, fish fondues, risotto weeks and a dinner and dance which includes a 5 course meal and wine. The restaurant area itself can accommodate 200 diners and there is seating for a further 90 guests outdoors. There is also a self-service area for hungry diners who are in a hurry. The wine selection includes Swiss, French, Italian and Austrian quality wines.
