Review on Restaurant 1896
One-time home of Lord Swansea, this rambling manor has been tastefully transformed into a country house hotel with traditional comforts, fine views and extensive landscaped grounds close to the River Irfon.
The splendid panelled Tudor Restaurant is a slice of history in its own right and the perfect backdrop for intimate dining. Welsh Black beef, local lamb, Pembrokeshire sea trout and â€" of course â€" cheeses from some of Wales’ top producers all feature on the menus. Typical dishes might include smoked duck breast with rocket and beetroot salad, herb-crusted rack of Welsh lamb with port jus, and monkfish and salmon kebabs on king prawn risotto. The 150-strong wine list covers the globe.
Sunday lunch is a popular affair and light meals are also available in the modern conservatory overlooking the grounds.
