Review on Ca'n Calent
Simple and contemporary decor showcases an ever changing art exhibition at Ca'n Calent, a fine dining Mediterranean/Mallorcan restaurant in Campos. Juan Vicens runs front of house while Miquel Vicens mans the stoves producing a seasonal menu which changes five times a year.
Using organically produced ingredients wherever possible you may be tempted to start with warm clam and purple potato salad with mind and pistaccio vinaigrette, marinade 'Beluga' sturgeon, salmon roe, Wasabi sauce and confit of cherry tomato salad or duck foie terrine with mandarin coulis with dried fruits & nuts. Mains could include grilled 'beluga' sturgeon fillet with ginger sauce, bomba rice and sauteed mangos, grilled entrecote served with Mallorcan 'tumbet' or ostrich turnedo with pink pepper suace and vegetable risotto. Something a little different for pudding try the Caramelised banana with Botrytis cake and green apple sorbet.
