Review on Prada a Tope
This charming restaurant, which offers traditional Madrid dishes, is located in the heart of the city. Inspired by the typical taverns of Castilla-Leon, the restaurant recreates a unique rural atmosphere with exposed wooden beams, tiled floors and stone columns. The artisan flavours of its dishes are a pleasant surprise and are based on traditional products produced from time-honoured methods from the region of El Bierzo. Prada's menu features smoked beef and black pudding, wood roasted peppers, baked tortilla, empanada, boiled pork knuckle with potato, savoy cabbage, vegetable sofrito and chorizo, and of course, succulent botillo (smoked and cured pork) â€" all good examples of what clients can expect when they visit this restaurant. For desserts, the house speciality is lemon cream with chestnuts and few leave without having tried it. The wine list features all the wines from the Palacio de Canedo cellars, including their red wine that has undergone carbonic maceration. Service is friendly and the front of house staff have a warm welcome for everyone who steps through the door. Its outstanding variety of wines and liqueurs make Prada a Tope one of the darlings of Madrid's restaurant scene.
