Review on Brasserie Blanc
Brasserie Blanc situated in the redevelopment of the former Stock Exchange on Threadneedle Street is the first addition to the chain of Raymond Blanc brasseries in the City of London. Spread over two floors comprising a ground floor dining room, as well as a mezzanine level and terrace, the interior has been given a classic 'brasserie de luxe' look, with the added feature of a wall displaying the wine cellar.
Like its siblings, it offers flexible modern French and European food, good-value set menus and a genuinely warm welcome for children. Raymond Blanc describes his brasseries as the place for relaxed enjoyment, where simple, high quality food comes as close as possible to the meals his mother cooked for him in Besançon and at prices that encourage you to visit regularly. Seasonal menus embrace such things as rillettes de pintade, crispy goat’s cheese parcel, tomato chutney and roast Barbary duck breast, orange and lime sauce, potato and turnip cake.
The wine list favours forward-looking French producers and reflects M. Blanc's interest in the current winemaking renaissance.
