Review on Eastway
Serving the needs of the breakfast brigade, business lunchers and after-work drinkers, Eastway (formerly Terminus Bar & Grill) hums from morning to night with its procession of breakfasts, brunch, afternoon teas and full meals. Service is chirpy, noise levels mount as the day wears on and the design â€" echoes of a classy railway buffet, with the addition of a sleek black granite bar running the length of the room â€" puts on no unnecessary airs and graces.
The food ranges from light healthy nibbles to mighty grills and robust pasta. You could share a plate of tapas, go for a sandwich or the Eastway burger with chips, or look for something more adventurous from the full menu, which features anything from fillet of bream with crushed new potatoes and sauce vierge to roast loin of pork with caramelised apples, cider and mustard beurre blanc. Start with potted shrimps or Stilton and leek tart, and round off with strawberry cheesecake or vanilla and chocolate brûlée.
