Review on Lough Inagh Lodge
Robustly built in the 1880s as a sporting lodge by London brewer Richard Berridge, this family-run country retreat still maintains its shooting and fishing connections. It stands by the shores of Lough Inagh, with the rugged beauty of Connemara’s Twelve Bens and National Park as a backdrop. Just the spot for aspiring ‘Compleat Anglers’!
Local seafood and game are the seasonal highlights on the restaurant menu, and they are given simple but effective treatment. Typical dishes from the kitchen’s repertoire might include seafood cakes with rosemary crème fraîche, fresh prawns in garlic butter, fillet of beef topped with blue cheese, and â€" to finish â€" vanilla terrine with wild fruit compote or apple sponge pudding. The food is backed by a very decent international wine list.
