Review on Tandoori Nights
Munir Hassan and his two sons have turned this neighbourhood curry house into the pick of the bunch on Lordship Lane. Over the years, it's become something of a favourite bolthole for south London celebs and TV stars, so don't be surprised if you recognise the person on the next table.
Tandoori Nights is an immensely likeable place, with a real dedication to freshly prepared food. There are no artificial additives or lurid red colourings here; instead, the kitchen uses freshly ground spices and top- notch raw materials (including organic produce where possible) for a range of enthusiastically reported North Indian dishes.
Stand-out specialities from the menu include green chicken haandi (marinated in green chillies and coriander), gosht kata haandi (lamb cooked with ginger and whole red chillies) and zameen haandi (mixed pulses cooked with garlic and ginger) - as well as channa chapati (thin bread with spiced chick peas). Drink beer and revel in the atmosphere.
