Review on Boot Inn
For many years, the ancient Burnmoor Inn (circa 1578) has fostered an enviable reputation as one of the best place in the Eskdale Valley for real ales: the pub even stages week-long beer festivals with a prodigious line up of brews on show.
Recently re-named The Boot Inn it is also renowned for its spectacular location at the foot of Scafell Pike â€" in fact some of the Lake District’ s greatest walking and climbing challenges are within easy reach.
Meat from the valley and fish from the lakes feature on the menus, which cover a lot of ground from organic gammon steak with egg and chips to venison and red wine casserole or tuna loin with asparagus, cherry tomatoes and sweet chilli sauce. If beer isn’t your tipple, the pub also has a well-stocked cellar with wines from around the world.
