Review on Nuovi Sapori
At first glance Nuovi Sapori might look like a café, but don't be fooled as this welcome newcomer tucked away in a quiet Fulham backwater is reckoned by some to be 'the best Italian for miles'. It's happily frequented by locals as well as out-of-towners who appreciate the owners' ebullient style and the skilfully crafted food.
The restaurant's name translates as 'new tastes' and the kitchen impresses with its distinctive take on the great trattoria classics from bresaola to saltimbocca all romana. Grilled smoked Mozzarella is wrapped in Parma ham, gnocchi comes with crab and creamy lobster sauce, while char-grilled swordfish might be served on a bed on spinach with rocket pesto.
There's also a list of specials which is updated each week, plus a decent array of traditional desserts and plenty of inexpensive wines to wash it all down.
