Review on White Horse
One very good reason for seeking out The White Horse in the village of Hascombe is its idyllic setting in idyllic countryside on the Geensand Way (great for walkers) and close to the National Trust’s Winkworth Arboretum. Another is the huge garden, which is perfect for families with kids in summer.
This sixteenth-century, rose-clad hostelry also has several other attributes. You can enjoy a pint of real ale and some decent grub (from ploughman’s to salmon fishcakes) in the traditional hop-garlanded bar or you can graduate to the separate restaurant.
Here the food strikes a more ambitious note with offerings such as Thai-style salmon and roast rack of lamb.
