Review on Tosa
A splendid example of an easy-going neighbourhood Japanese restaurant, Tosa has quickly found its niche market by focusing on skewered delicacies from the robata grill rather than venturing down the ubiquitous sushi route.
There’s not much in the way of décor in the functional L-shaped room â€" just bare wooden furniture plus a few prints and artefacts dotted around. The grill is at the front, and chefs deliver a big range of specialities, spanning everything from familiar chicken yakitori to torikawa (chicken skin with salt), ox tongue with salt and lemon, and shisomaki (shiso leaf with pork loin).
Fans of raw fish can still get their fix from the limited â€" but well-crafted â€" selection of health-giving sashimi and sushi, and the menu also lists various salads, agedashi tofu, tempura and green tea ice cream to finish.
