Review on La Fiamma
La Fiamma was established in 1995 on Hampton Court Road and is a charming little family run Italian restaurant with fantastic views over Bushey Park, you can gaze out of the large picture windows and watch the deer amble past. The rustic décor with its exposed brickwork, stripped wood floor and flowers adorning the simply laid wood tables, is very cosy with its welcoming fire during the winter months.
The traditional cuisine features many well known favourites amongst the antipasto such as calamari frito, deep fried squid served in a tartare sauce and lemon or mushrooms filled with herbs, garlic and parmesan cheese in a white wine, baked in the oven in bechamel sauce. There is a large selection of pasta and risotto dishes and the linguine al arogosta, long pasta with lobster meat, spring onions and cherry tomatoes in a white wine sauce is a popular choice. Among the meat dishes look for stincotto, a shank of pork marinated in salt, roasted in the oven topped with a homemade apple sauce and served with fresh steamed vegetables and the menu also features a large selection of pizzas. Desserts include a traditional Tiramisu or crepe al mascarpone, crepe filled with mascarpone and cream, topped with raspberry coulis and ice cream.
