Review on Gianni's Brio Ristorante
As ‘lively’ as its name suggests, this modern venue offers a real taste of Italy with a bustling metropolitan atmosphere to match.
The menu is a long run through all the staples, opening with a clutch of antipasti including fish and potato croquettes with chilli salsa, followed by a host of pasta options such as fusilli with char-grilled zucchini and artichokes or tortiglioni with rustic sausages in a ragù of black olives, red onions and tomato.
Main courses (‘secondi piatti’) could range from calf’s liver with pancetta and sage to grilled steak with mostarda di Cremona (mustard fruits), while pannetone bread-and-butter pudding is a decent way to finish.
