Review on Le Bistro Savoir Faire
Frescos and murals decorate the dining room of Le Bistro Savoir Faire on New Oxford Street, an archetypal, family-run bistro, which has been serving the West End crowds since 1995. The building itself is quite remarkable, with vaults and cellars that once â€" reputedly â€" provided a lifeline with old Soho.
Menus change every couple of weeks, although classics such as traditional boeuf bourguignon and tarte Tatin are never absent. The choice of starters could include char-grilled scallops in hazelnut butter with creamy leek risotto or salad of smoked duck with pears and sherry dressing, while main courses might range from pan-fried calf’s liver with fig and balsamic sauce to fillet of sea bass with aubergine caviar, chorizo, olives and basil. The wine list offers sound drinking from reputable growers worldwide.
