Review on Café 1
Within sight of Inverness castle, right in the centre of town, this contemporary bistro-style restaurant is a real asset to the neighbourhood and has established an excellent reputation in recent years. Relaxed modern design creates just the right mood, and the open-plan kitchen delivers the goods.
Eclectic cooking is the order of the day, with ideas gleaned from around the globe. You might kick off with a gâteau of haggis with a potato scone and whisky sauce or tempura king prawns with mango and tomato salsa, before sticky pork belly with sweet potatoes, pak choi and soy glaze or fillet of halibut with ratatouille and crispy leeks. Homemade desserts and ice creams complete the picture.
