Review on Toravaig House Hotel
Daily boat trips and excursions on the owners' brand new 42-foot yacht, Solus, are a novel attraction for visitors staying at this tranquil, white-painted country house hotel. Dubbed 'the Garden of Skye', Sleat is a delightful spot with glorious views as far as the Knoydart Hills.
Meals are served in the contemporary styled Islay Restaurant with its well-laid tables and luxurious brown leather seats. Cullen skink is a favourite starter, along with creamed smoked salmon on a bed of spinach topped with a poached egg. Scottish produce also shines through in main courses like herb-crusted fillet of salmon on brandied fennel with caramel sauce or saddle of venison with parsnip purée and port jus. To conclude, through dietary caution to the wind with hot sticky toffee pudding.
