Review on Pomme d'Or Hotel, The Harbour Room
Affectionately known as the 'Pomme', this historic hotel has been part of the St Helier scene for more than 175 years. The imposing building overlooks Liberation Square and is just a short stroll from the harbour and the centre of town.
There are several dining options within the hotel, although the jewel in the crown The Harbour Room, a richly appointed formal dining room offering high-class European food. Local seafood specials supplement a repertoire that might run to confit of duck and foie gras terrine, rack of lamb provençale or beef with oyster mushrooms and Madeira jus. Hot chocolate fondant is a typical dessert. Snacks are served in the Café Bar, while the Harbour Room is noted for its buffet and carvery.
